To determine certain wind field parameters from radial measurements, a wind field reconstruction (WFR) algorithm is applied. Due to the limited information (“cyclops dilemma”) however, the WFR often lacks the reconstruction of certain parameters, such as the vertical wind speed or horizontal wind shear. We propose a combination of multiple NML to reconstruct these additional parameters, called the fan scan methodology.
